Settling

Mimicry

They say it is evolution that we can transcend the need for feelings

That we can push aside morality and the theater of love for

Legalities

And mutual agreements

Settling

Turn relationships into a business

Supply and demand

Bust

Stress relief

Mockery of intimacy

Sex is just a tool

Use it as much as you can

Settling

And watch how from the inside the soul decays

That union between two becoming a union with self

Holding our own hands

Kissing our own lips

Supposing that’s all we need

They agreed

Nodding just let me use you

And you use me

Physically

Settling

And we waste away

Vodka

Ganja

Always something missing…taboo to find it in someone else

Common sense to turn inward …make nothing into something

Empty hands

Idle hearts

Starving for what we rejected

Unwilling to do the work

Settling settling settling
